Kolb’s Fine Meats & Sausage pride ourselves in the mom and pop style meat shop using swinging beef and pork for our cuts and take great care in ensuring all of our cuts are satisfactory to our customers. We receive all of our beef, pork and chicken fresh every week and we pass that freshness on to you. We make all of our sausage, bacon, hamburger patties, beef jerky, pepperoni, and even pickled sausage right here in our facility. We also have speciality items like briskets, rouladen, tomahawk steaks, pichana, flat iron and denver steaks, heart, kidney, tongue, liver, hocks, feet and much more that many retail outlets don’t carry.

The Kolb's Story


Where We Started

Kolb’s Fine Meats & Sausage is a 4th generation, family run meat shop. In 1976, Dave Kolb moved his family from Vancouver to Olds where he purchased the Olds IGA. He and his wife ran the store for 11 years before selling and becoming farmers. Dave had a long history in the meat industry and passed his knowledge on to his son Brent who became the meat manager at the IGA store. In 1984, Brent married Cindy Schneider, his long time meat wrapper and together they ran the meat department servicing Olds and the surrounding communities with their fine cuts. They had an excellent reputation as having the best meat around. Although, Brent eventually turned to other endeavors, he always retained his love of the industry by making sausage and doing specialty cuts for friends and family. When Dave suddenly passed away in 2018, while in the middle of building their acreage retirement home, Brent took a small section of the shop to make and sell his jerky and pepperoni. At that time, Brent and Cindy’s son Dilan decided he would like to learn the meat trade. He enrolled in Olds College and graduated in 2019, with honours, and subsequently joined his dad in the business. During his schooling, Dilan acquired knowledge in many other areas of the meat industry including retail and slaughtering. In April 2021 we expanded to a retail location in Olds that has allowed us to better serve our customers. Where We Are Today

Brent and Cindy have made Olds their home since 1976, raising their children here, both of whom also reside in Olds. Their daughter Ashlee is married to David Dux who is a horticulturist and works for For Trees and Ashlee works at Olds Eyecare Clinic. Ashley is also a great salesperson for the store. Son, Dilan is married to Tamaira Sahli who works in many aspects throughout the store. Together they have two children, Remmington and Maverick who are actively involved in many sports in Olds. Brent and Dilan value their community and support many activities.
